Specializing in Indian Head massage Carolyn introduced this wonderful therapy to Ragdale Hall back in 1997 as a freelance therapist, soon she became their holistic development therapist and trainer, introducing new holistic treatments to keep the department in the cutting edge of therapies also adding her own signature treatments and developed her own range of essential oil blends for the spa treatments.

Carolyn’s expertise in development has won her a top award for innovation in Singapore, after which followed TV and radio interviews, and articles in national press and glossy magazines.

Combining her extensive knowledge and experience of holistic therapies Carolyn has developed a signature range of treatments the spa has to offer, including a wonderful range of Art of Life aromatherapy blends.

About Claire

Throughout her holistic career Claire’s essential focus has been massage, and this has become a passionate journey for her. As a child she was told she had hot healing hands and inuitive ‘spooks’, and this encouraged her to become fascinated with the human body.

Even through her degree in Fine Art her pieces continued to reflect her interest in the human form..her decision to be come professionally qualified in massage only seemed to cut out the need for materials where the use of her creative hands was concerned!

Following her ITEC course in Anatomy, Physiology and Massage at Aroma House in Nottingham in 1999, Claire has continued her development through many courses including Lomilomi on the Big Island of Hawaii with Nancy Kahalewai and Daniel Albers in 2001, a Hawaiian Healing School with Maka’ala Yates on Kauai in 2003, Tuina Chinese Acupressure and Thai massage with the world renowned Maria Mercati at Bodyharmonics in Cheltenham.

Claire is qualified in the Hopi Ear Candle treatments, Indian Head Massage, Ayurvedic massage and shirodhara, and Indonesian spa rituals. She also has 2nd degree Reiki, as well as specialised knowledge in back pain and deep tissue massage following courses with the Holos school in 2002/2003.

Claire initially began working as a professional therapist alongside workshops teaching massage to 12-16 year olds in the ‘Youth Inclusion Project’ and community health days in Nottingham, and went on to join Ragdale Hall in 2002. Here she developed the Lomilomi treatments, and gave workshops and demonstrations to both therapists and the general public. She really felt her career in massage bloom, and her clients ranged from country club members to visiting celebrities, and has appeared on GMTV.
